[Ltsp-discuss] slow loading of image using pxe

Hello,

I'm having an issue where it sometimes takes 15+ minutes to load the
ltsp thin client image over pxe. I'm using Ubuntu 14.04 (server has
16gb of ram, 15 clients, localapps) - server resources appear to be
fine. When I start up a thin client, it will wait at "Trying to load:
pxelinux.cfg/default ok" for about 15 minutes before proceeding to
finally load. What is the best way to troubleshoot what is going on?
This doesn't happen everytime either, which is strange. I'm thinking it
may be some sort of network issue, but I'm not really sure how to
troubleshoot it. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

I vaguely remember, I've had a similar problem - but not that bad.
(maybe 1-2 minutes). For me it was client related. Maybe it was related
to specific nics.

After booting clients, everythin is working ok? You can check network
with "iperf". Just install inside the ltsp chroot and on the server and
check the performance. Does it appear with all clients? Can you check
with another type, e.g. some notebook?

Regards
Jan
