in the lts.conf, you can set the ntp-server address:
TIMESERVER=ntp.example.fr

Hello,

A follow-up question for this -- does the timeserver need to be on your own
network or the LTSP server itself? Or could I use a generic timeserver
such as any from http://www.pool.ntp.org?

Thank you
Joseph

Hi,

You can use generic one. I do usually select same TZ, closest to the server, but that does not matter that much really.

TIMESERVER=pool.ntp.org
TIMESERVER=0.fi.pool.ntp.org
If your are using thin clients on an isolated LTSP-specific network, it
may not be able to route to the internet from the thin client directly.

I would recommend installing ntp on your server (it may require to allow
syncronization, though I don't recall ever having to do this), and
setting in lts.conf:

TIMESERVER=auto

Then it will sync from your server, which should have reasonable
defaults.

If all your clients are syncing with the server, you'll get more
consistant time for your network than if they all pick random servers
From a pool.
